TEAM SCUPPERNONG LOOKS BACK ON ANOTHER EVENTFUL SEASON
Season 10 Review
Season 10 was an average season for team Scuppernong. They were far better than in season 9 and achieved the same success as in season 8. You have to go back to the sixth season before you find a more successful season. At the beginning of the season the goals set were:
-Get back into the top division
-Achieve 10 results
-Achieve 3 victories
-Get a top 9 finish in one of the tours
-Finish training up Woodson
The first of these targets was achieved as we are now sitting in 37th place, after dropping into the second division for a period.
However, the team was one result short their second target of 10 results. Even though we only had 9 results, there were alot of top 9 positions. In future these need to be converted into podium places. Woodson had 5 results, Penney had 2 results and ex-Scuppernong riders Theodore Sale and Ethanael Maier each achieved one result each.
We did however reach our target of three victories. One each to Woodson, Penney and Sale.
Also for the first time in the teams history, Scuppernong achieved and overall result in a tour, when Woodson finished seventh in the Perm tour, which was the only tour the team signed up for in season 10 due to the sign-up restrictions now imposed on the Germany tour.
The final goal was also achieved, and Truman Woodson has now finished all of his training. At one point, rumours were circulating that Woodson had achieved a higher average than Nico Holt even before his TT training. These rumours proved to be unfounded when Woodson maxed out at 52. He is still one the best climbers in the world and is ranked 25th in the world with 800 points, after a difficult season for climbers, one in which breakaway riders prospered. However, doctors are worried about Woodson's fitness as he picked up two injuries during the season, meaning he missed out on over two weeks of racing.
Season 11 Goals
After numerous meetings between the manager and the board, the goals have been set for next season which are:
-Achieve 12 results
-Achieve 4 victories
-Achieve an overall result in a tour
-Sign up for the Germany tour
-Train up some more English talent.
These goals are more ambitious than last season, but with Woodson fully trained from the start of the season, it is hoped that these goals will be reached.
Riders
During the last season, the team manager, Joe, was also informed by Ingemann Ahrengren that he would be retiring during the coming season. When asked about it Joe said "I don't want to say much now as Ahrengren is still racing but he has done an excellent job and we will both be releasing statements closer to his retirement." Joe was also asked about his replacement, to which he responded, "I am looking to train up another English rider. I have one in mind but will also be scouting others in fellow teams.
This revelation follows on from Delmar Vancleave being sold during the past season. He was the most successful rider that the team has ever had. Following his departure Joe said, "Delmar was an absolute pleasure to work with. He wasn't the most talented rider but he always put in 110% to get his 16 results for the team including two wins. I wish him all the best in the future"
Delmar also said "I enjoyed every minute with the team and I am aware the team needed money to train up the younger riders and I hope that Woodson is able to go on to great things."
Last season also saw the departure of the last remaining riders from the original Scuppernong team.
Season 11 will hopefully be another successful season, and with the team behind their captain Woodson, they should break into the top 30 teams and maybe once again into the top 20.

Thank you. It is certainly a bit more interesting than my normal black and white press releases.
Maybe feature for the futuru, colour in press releases.
Well it looks nice :)!
i use the url address from the shirts on my profile page. However, I couldn't get an image of the whole shirt, only seperate images of the different colours of my jersey.
Hope that makes sense because I am struggling to explain it any better.
But isn't it hard to make a shirt?
Using HTML code.
I only found out how to do it today. Hence the reason I have gone over the top slightly.
How do you do that with the colours, shirt and everyting :)?
